What is Coaching, Anyway?

What do you want? How will you get it? These are two business, work and life questions that we all grapple with every day. Coaching helps expedite the process of setting and achieving goals by adding a critical third component by first asking –

“Who are you?”

And then discovering if What you want is aligned with Who you really are. While these may seem like odd starting points for business coaching, remember that business coaching is always about coaching people.

Concrete plans, strategies and goals, whether personal or business, are able to be crafted when you have this solid personal foundation in place for everyone involved.

How Do We Start the Coaching Process?

We start with a conversation by telephone or a meeting to see if we connect and to give you an opportunity to ask questions and learn if I can help you reach your goals, whether you are a business leader trying to lead a company to growth and success or an individual trying to succeed in your work. There is a link to send me an email requesting this first conversation. I will respond within a day to set a time for us to talk.

Upon deciding to move forward, I will ask you to complete a client intake form, which helps me get to know you better and will help us define the stated goals for our work together. We will also discuss the options for coaching that are best for you; frequency, day, time for our sessions. Your preferences for coaching will be put into a contract that I will ask you to sign providing all of the details for our work together.

If we decide that we are not a good fit for each other, I have a rich community of coaches to refer you to. Finding the right Coach is the first win for you!

How Long Does It Take?

There is a minimum of three months for our working together. We will assess your progress as we move along in the coaching relationship, but the timeframe is up to you. Many clients need help with short-term goals and three months is all they need. Other clients are up to big endeavors and desire to put a coach on their team indefinitely.
